Cercli, a UAE-headquartered payroll and employee data platform, secured US$4 million in a seed funding round led by Afore Capital. The round also saw participation from COTU Ventures, Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, Karim Atiyeh, Sebastian Mejia, Tony Dong, Tony Jamous, and Allison Pickens, among others. This investment marks Afore Capital's debut in the MENA region.
Launched in early 2024 by Akeed Azmi and David Reche, Cercli offers a unified platform for MENA businesses to hire, manage, and pay their global workforce. The company aims to simplify payroll, HR, and compliance, reducing errors and inefficiencies associated with legacy systems. Cercli intends to use the funds to support its growth, expand its product offerings, attract talent, and strengthen its presence in key markets, addressing the $2 billion market opportunity for payroll management in the MENA region.
