Sigo Seguros, a digital-first auto insurance company, secured $10.5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Varco Capital and Listen, with participation from Angeles Ventures, Flintlock Capital, Zeal Capital Partners, Rise of the Rest, and Fiat Ventures. As part of the financing, Rafael Varela, Partner at Varco Capital, will join Sigo Seguros' board of directors.
Sigo Seguros specializes in providing non-standard auto insurance, initially focusing on Hispanic and Latine communities. The company offers a fully digital, Spanish-language mobile platform that aims to make obtaining insurance easier and more affordable by eliminating extra fees and not requiring credit checks or information on education and employment history. The new funding is intended to help the Texas-based company expand into new markets with large immigrant populations and limited auto insurance options, such as Florida and California, and to further develop its product offerings.
